The Light

 In all of us there is a light

within our heart and soul.

At first it shines both clear and bright

untouched within the fold.

Until our lives become too full

of living day by day.

Caught up in trying to survive

we somehow lose our way.

And that is when the darkness grows

within the seed of fear.

It feeds upon lost hope and doubt

and grows with every tear.

The light that once was bright is dimmed

and trust we start to lose.

For we forget the loving truth,

we simply have to choose.

And when our hearts are open to

receive this clear insight.

The darkness lifts and disappears

because we choose

the Light.
